The story is set in UT and looks at silver mining and fixing typewriters and the start of new relationships. Clare is in business with her grandfather, running the shop fixing typewriters, books and selling paper for writing. Her niece works in the shop and works the front while Clare does the fixing. An interesting start to a new series. I am interested in reading more about Clare and Star City. Not sure about the peripheral characters. I find the majority of them annoying and or uninteresting, but they may grow on me. I did find the explanation of the mystery very unsatisfying, I would have liked a better epilogue.
