Enjoyable start to a series. Nell's engagement falls apart the day she receives her wedding quilt from her grandmother. Nell leaves NY for small town Archers Rest and the comfort of her grandmother's quilting circle. A murder throws Nell into investigative mode as she is also trying to sort through her life. 4 stars

I wasn't expecting much, to tell the truth, but this turned out to be an interesting read with substantial characters and an intriguing plot with clues, realistic suspects, and quilting lore along the way. So I was pleasantly surprised, and instead of just enduring it to get it off my shelves and fulfill a reading challenge, I found myself having some fun.
