Clammed Up by Barbara Ross is the first book in the Maine Clambake Mystery series. Julia Snowden returns to her home town of Busman's Harbor to help save her family's clambake business run on the family owned Morrow Island. Unfortunately the best man at a wedding to be held on the island is found murdered and Julia investigates to help speed up the business reopening.. An interesting, well written mystery with plenty of twists and red herrings. I was a bit let down by the ending, but otherwise t

This was a good mystery, very complex and with lots of twists. The family aspect was lovely, and I liked that the dynamics felt realistic. The first half (the set-up) was slow to me, but the second half of the book was super quick to read as things really came together well and kept me guessing until close to the end of the story.

Lots if plot twists. I kept trying to figure out "who-done-it". You don't truly know until the end, even though you might have your suspects. Good book and well written.

Julia returns to Maine to help her family with their clambake business, but a murder and then other crimes start to threaten the viability of their business. Julie decides to take matters into her own hands to find out what's going on. Like many first books of a series, there are a lot of people and it's hard to keep track of everyone, but overall I enjoyed this story. 3.5 stars.
