This was such a great take on a Shakespearean story combined with Star Wars. My girls who have battled me on reading Shakepeare, but they enjoyed this, too.

I have added my collected update notes below. I think they should suffice. LOL

70.0% "I'm not a huge Shakespeare fan, but I have MAD respect for this production. The voice work, the writing, the simple way in which the characters are portrayed, with their inner voices revealed."

I love both Star Wars and Shakespeare so this book was fun. I think you have to like both to appreciate it, and if you do, you will love it. It is laugh-out-loud funny to hear the story told in this format and hear the movie characters giving famous speeches. R2-D2 has asides that you can understand and Han has an heroic aside as he decides to go save Luke. And Luke gives the band of brothers speech to his fellow rebels. Hilarious! I listened to this on audio and have decided it is the only way to read this book. It was just pure fun. This was a full cast narration and it worked very well for this story. They even included iconic Star Wars music and sounds. I loved how the story took the phrases from the movie and changed them to fit the play.

I don't know how scholarly this is or if it follows Shakespeare's plays very well, it was just a delight to listen to.

The concept is wonderful, the execution of it feels like a fan love-letter to both Shakespeare and Star Wars. The reading of it is at times amusing and at time laborious. I skimmed through sections and skipped to my favorite scenes.

If u love Star Wars and love Shakespeare, u must read this!
Since I do love both, I loved this!

Also good for anyone who is a theater buff. Easy to see how this can be staged and used for audition pieces.
