I just read another book by this author and enjoyed it. So if this book was not your cup of tea, don’t let that keep you from reading her other books.

I suspect the winery background is what got this book a lot of hype, but to me, this was just another chick lit and not even one of its better ones.

Digital audiobook narrated by Joy Osmanski.
From the book jacket: Growing up on her family’s Sonoma County vineyard, Georgia Ford learned some important secrets. The secret number of grapes it takes to make a bottle of wine: eight hundred. The secret ingredient in her mother’s lasagna: chocolate. But just a week before her wedding, thirty-year-old Georgia discovers her beloved fiancé has been keeping a secret so explosive, it will change their lives forever.

This was not a complex book. It's not the kind of book you'd say changed your life, or you'd read over and over again. But I have to admit, I liked it a lot more than I expected. It was light, it was fun, it was touching. And anything set in wine country automatically gets a few extra points. If you're looking for something easy to read, quick, and light-hearted, this a great choice.

Georgia's life seems to be imploding around her, from her upcoming wedding to issues with her parents, her twin brothers, her family business and even her career. This is the story of marriage, family, love and wine -- and what happens when they all join forces.
I will admit that I was drawn to this book by its cover art, but the writing and the characters kept me reading. I would love to be a part of Georgia's family, flaws and all. No matter what -- and there are some huge "what"s in this stor ...more

I had started this book when the Summer Reading Challenge prompts were announced and saw it would be perfect for the prompt: JULY 1. Halfway There! c. Read a book that features twins, because this book had not one, but two sets of twins (two generations). So I set the book aside until the challenge started and made quick work of it today. It was a nice, quick summertime read.

2.5 stars.
The story kept moving, but I didn't connect with the characters at all. Georgia was kind of irritating to me, I guess because of her back and forth? Or maybe her bossiness which the author tried to disguise as helpfulness? I don't know. Whatever it was, I just couldn't connect to the characters or the book. ...more
