Reread 3/10/14
I am a Nora Roberts diehard fan so I knew that I would enjoy this trilogy. This was actually a reread for me, and I still feel the same as I did when I read it back in early 2012. I love her Nora weaves all of her characters into the story. You can’t help but love each one of them. This is the first book in the Inn Boonsboro trilogy. All three Montgomery brothers are hot, but this story is primary about Beckett who has been in love with Claire since middle school. Clair left immedi ...more

Ryder, Owen, and Beckett Montgomery and their mother, Justine own Montgomery Family Contractors. They are currently renovating Inn BoonsBoro into a bed and breakfast, but it has sat empty for several years and is a 200 year old building, so is a major undertaking. Clare Brewster, a widow with 3 young sons, owns the Turn The Page bookshop across the street. Beckett has always had an attraction to Clare, but she was the girlfriend of a friend and saw him only as a friend. When her husband is kille

The Next Always is the first in the Inn BoonsBoro trilogy which tells the story of three brothers who, along with their mother, are renovating a local inn. One brother is the head contractor, one is the organizational and business guy and one is the architect. The first book centers on Bennett, the architect, who has been in love with Clare since they were in high school. Clare had married the quarterback and became a military wife. While pregnant with her third son, Clare loses her husband and

Just really could not get into this story. I have no interest in what seems like a million descriptions of an inn's renovations and the romance aspect was really cheesy.
I hope this is not how Nora Roberts always writes or else how the hell did she become so popular??? ...more

Three female friends, three male friends, throw in some dogs and a hint of paranormal - Hey! This must be a Roberts Book!
No surpises during the read, but darn if it wasn't still a really enjoyable book. She found what works for her and keeps pumping them out. And as long as she does I'll keep reading them. They are just such good perfect light happy romance books. ...more

It's your typical romance, but I really did like the characters. I think it could probably have handled being cut down a bit. It seemed to get a bit tedious in places.

Every time I read another Nora Roberts, I remember why I like her so much. This story is just seamless. It's not a profound story or arc - it's just people in a small town, rehabbing a historic building, falling in love. But it moves, there's great pace, lots of feeling and strong characters. I SEE the town and Inn and gift shop and book store. And I FEEL the MCs falling for each other... so sigh. As usual, Ms Roberts worked her juju over me and I was 3/4 into the book at 2 am before I even knew
