I finally finished it! I can't believe it's taken me this long to finish listening to this. I also can't believe that the ending wasn't spoiled for me. I think that's a book miracle right there. I loved the twists and turns in this story. It kept me guessing till the end. Loved it!

A begrudging four stars. Not quite my taste in stories, but extremely well-written. Except the ending. A lack of an ending is not, in fact, a way of finishing a story. I paid (or, well, my library paid) to get an entire story, not 95% of a story. Finish what you started!
Otherwise, I was highly amused at what I can only assume are Gillian Flynn's jabs at her copy editors. Twice, she talks about somebody "talking to Nick and me (yes, me is the correct word)" or "giving things to Nick and me (yes, ...more

This book was like watching a train wreck! The writing was so realistic and the characters' thoughts were so vividly portayed that it felt like I was a fly on the wall of a true crime story. It's the kind of book that makes you love, then hate, then maybe sympathize with (or not!) the characters in a hectic cycle. I really wanted to give it 4.5 stars because I was hoping for a slightly different ending, but it deserves being bumped up to 5 for writing style and suspense! I highly recommend it.

Ummm, this book is twisted. Not quite my cup of tea. However, with that being said, I'm very interested in seeing the movie, to see how it's adapted to screen. To me, it felt quite predictable, and I think that's why I had a hard time getting through it. I already knew how it ended (and my thoughts were right...unfortunately).

I felt this book was off to a slow start, and then it hooked me.

This book had lots of buzz around the world and I wanted to check out what all the hype was about. Unexpected surprises wrapped up in a black book. Flynn's writing style is amazing. It was like watching a Hitchcock movie in which suspense builds up slowly. With razor sharp writing and her ability to build suspense till the very end of the book was astounding. Fast paced book which keeps you at the edge of the seat guessing till the end. I ...more
