I’ve really been struggling with how to review Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl without spoiling it. It’s complex and intense and engaging and I don’t want to do anything to ruin it for you. So I think this review will be really short.
Read the book.
Ok, not that short.

Sweet Jeebus thank God that's finally over. I didn't think I'd ever get to the end. It was so incredibly BORING. Even when I finally got to the infamous "omg" moment it still wasn't enough to save the book. Then after the initial surprise moment it went right back to the tedious never-ending story I've come to know and loathe.

Amy Elliott Dunne goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary and her husband Nick quickly becomes a suspect in her disappearance. The book starts off like a typical disappearance plot but about halfway through starts throwing major twists in the story. that's when the book really grabbed my interest. Nick and Amy are some serisouly messed up characters.

This book was fantastic. Someone leaked the who dunnit to me before I got that far in the book but I was still on the edge of my seat. My only very slight irritation was that I didn't like the ending but it's still an absolutely fantastic book.

3.5 stars. Nick Dunne's 5th Anniversary is marred by a chilling scene in his house and his missing wife. I didn't like any of the characters in this book. I didn't like the ending.
Honestly, I know it's a super bestseller, but I wasn't a fan. I was surprised a few times, but I figured out many of the twists. If you enjoy being surprised and don't need to like the characters in a book, then you might enjoy this book.
With-reservations:
language, violence, murder, betrayal, adultery, kidnapping ...more

This is the best I can do without giving anything away.
The book started off good, grabbed my attention right away. But then it slowed down a bit and got boring. Honestly, I was tired of reading her diary entries and hearing about the search. But then it picked back up towards the end.
This is the book I have read by this author, I look toward to reading other by her.
