Connie N.
#1 in the Charley Davison series

This is cute--not great--but cute. I liked the idea of Charley being able to "see dead people" and help them cross to the other side. She's learned not to mention her ability too often, but she does use her skills to help the police department (namely, her Uncle Bob) solve some of their cases. In this case she helps 3 lawyers who were shot, but they didn't know why. She also helps many people who haven't yet crossed because they often wish they could send some las

This is one of the hardest reviews to write, because I really didn't know what to say without giving the plot away. Just saying I loved it wouldn't be good enough either.

When I grow up I want to be just like Charley Davidson,lol.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be a Grim Reaper. I want to be able to wield my words and use sarcasm the way she does. Plus, she is a very smart women and can hold her own.

We need more heroines like this. I laughed so hard. I think that this was the easiest book t

Charley Davidson is a grim reaper who is bit strange (I mean she named her breasts Danger and Will Robinson).

What I enjoyed:
* Charley. She seems like she'd be fun to hang around with.
* The lawyers. (view spoiler)
* Reyes' secret
* Cookie. She takes all the craziness in stride and gets things done for Charley. I want a Cookie to manage my life.

What could have been better:
* It looks like it is trying to go into love

This was just a great book from start to finish! I love Charley’s self-deprecating humor and work to help the departed make peace before they move on. However, for as funny as she is, Charley has a less than stellar past and a daunting future. The heartfelt moments between Charley and her dad and uncle were precious. She is so loved, yet so misunderstood. There were some very interesting layers that I look forward to seeing expanded on in the upcoming installments.

This was a really fun read!! Lots of action and plenty of laughs to keep things moving along! Charley is awesome and my new fav heroine! It was surprisingly racy for a mainstream book. Not a complaint just an observation! Things take a turn at the end and the author wraps of most plot lines but leaves enough open to whet the appetite for more!

All the supporting characters are as great as the lead! Can not wait to read the next book!

Excellent start to the series. Charley Davidson is the grim reaper and a part time PI. She helps her uncle with murder cases for the PD. i love Charley's smart mouth, her best friend and her encounters with Reyes. Looking forward to the next book. ...more

I've heard/read a lot of great things about this series. As first books go, it had a lot of things you needed to flesh out for yourself. Some of it I caught on to pretty quickly. By the end, everything is so different. There is a lot of detective work for Charley, which keeps the story going besides the shenanigans she gets herself into as well as the grim reaper aspect. While I loved this, I couldn't give it 5 stars. Many times I felt my eyes roll because of Charley's snark/wit/sarcasm/humor. I ...more
