This is a fun kick off to a new series. I enjoyed the church family setting and I kept using my church and the manse as the setting because the neighborhoods are similar and I think that made it even more fun. I'm looking forward to the next book, but alas it is a Christmas setting and I will save it for later in the year. ...more

I very much liked the main character in this cozy mystery. Aggie is a warm and friendly woman, wife of a minister, who seems genuine and is a good person. She is a stay-at-home mom who raises her daughters in a no-nonsense but warm and humorous way. She and minister-husband Ed have a nice normal relationship, and I appreciate their closeness and how well they are suited to each other. I got such a nice feeling about their home and their values. just couldn't get into any of the characters or the story line, and only finished it because it was an easy read and needed a scavenger word for one of my reading challenges. ...more
