A fun take on a premise that I've seen done before. The concept that Death or the Reaper is a job or a mantle and not the entity itself.
In this world, reaping is a done by a special segment of people who live in self contained communities complete with micro economies and job functions in all aspects. For example, a mayor, restaurants, etc.
