My first time reading this author. Nice easy going writing style for a debut story. I was pleasantly surprised how well the two MCs developed through their survival on the island and beyond. I kept waiting for cheesy, cliche, or tawdry...but thankfully it was just the right balance of drama, tension, atmosphere and natural, realistic character bonding. On the Island is the story of thirty year old tutor, Anna and TJ, a sixteen year old boy recovering from cancer. Really sweet book and I LOVED T.J.! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a love story.
I really liked this book. I had my doubts going in--there was just to big an age gap, but it worked really well, and I got over it.
