This book was sooo good. A perfect summer read. I like books with a number of characters and Jane Green is a master at intertwining lives. I had trouble putting this down and I did not want this story to end.

What a wonderful introduction to Jane Green! This book is warm and friendly, all about relationships and their ups and downs. I was drawn in immediately to the characters, all inherently good people but with vulnerabilities and problems that they need to face and overcome. A variety of people randomly end up renting or living together in a home on the beach in Nantucket. Nan is the "matriarch" of the group as the owner of the home and forced to rent out rooms. Jane Green made a come back for me in this book. Prior to this, I read her next book - Dune Road and was sorely disappointed. However, this book is more of the Jane Green I've come to know and love. The multi-story plot line ties together well, with only one piece of the plot irritating me as over the top...and I won't spoil that for any perspective readers. While there is a main character in this book, there is more a weaving together of seemingly unconnected characters who come together when the eccentric Nan, main character, starts to rent out rooms in her house on a cliff overlooking the beach on Nantucket.
