I am still numb from the surprise of not liking this book.
The overarching theme of loss of imagination due to adulthood is so terrifyingly on-the-nose. There is neither subtlety nor beauty in those passages. It just points a finger and says " you, you, you are an adult, do not let this happen". I can accept things are dire, I refuse to be preached it.

Such a lost opportunity. There are passages with such charm and beauty, you ache for the writer who captivated you within the first ten pages of S

There are a few scenes where adult inferences are needed, but other than that it could definitely qualify perhaps for young adults. As a child, I never cared for these types of books, but I found this one to be interesting. Perhaps, because it read more like a novella

4 stars. My first Neil Gaiman book and I really, really enjoyed it. I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked it up but I'm so glad I took a chance on it. Such a breath of fresh air.

The story is hard to explain but while reading it I was hooked. The writing is fantastic and I really liked our main protagonist and the way the story was told. My absolute favorite thing about this book though was the scenery and the feel of it. So beautiful and descriptive. I could vividly imagine everyth
