4.5 stars. Magical, creepy, and oh so weird. Everything I love about Neil Gaiman's works. Full review to come.

I couldn't put this book down. There's something wonderful and terrifying about the world you get to glimpse. I'm still sorting through how I feel about the conclusion. I devoured this book and am sad it's over. What a lovely and fantastical journey.

I decided to re-visit this story in audio, narrated by the author himself. An excellent use of time!

3.5 stars actually
Over the years, I have heard much about Neil Gaiman’s writing style, but his books were always geared towards children. This book was very enjoyable. The writing enchanting, the pace gripping, and the characters engaging. I am both nostalgic for a childhood that isn't mine and a bit creeped out by things that go bump in the night.

This book was a huge disappointment in my opinion. Especially after everyone gave it such great reviews. But I didn't like anything about it. The narrative was bland, I didn't find any if the characters sympathetic and the plot just wasn't interesting. After my second Gaiman novel I have yet to be converted to a fan.
