My book group wanted to read something that was historical fiction and also humor - a tough combination, but googling led us to this book! Not sure it really felt like either to me, but it was a very unique read, and I always love when serendipity brings me a read that I never would have otherwise chosen.

It has its funny moments (mostly surrounding Smudge and the pony) and a nice, neat satisfying ending.
