A bit too long, in my opinion, but an engrossing read about 5 days in the grand and luxurious St. Gregory Hotel in New Orleans. This book takes place over five days in 1964, at the elite St. Gregory Hotel in New Orleans. It weaves together the fortunes, conflicts, and intimacies affecting the hotel guests and management.
It had well written and memorable characters, some likeable and some downright revolting. Warren Trent is the St. Gregory's bigoted owner. 50 years old but still intriguing......hard to read about racist attitudes of the time....think I saw movie based on this on TV.
