Still Alice is the story of fifty year old Alice Howland who has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Nothing strikes such fear in the hearts of people over fifty than the thought of getting Alzheimer's. A story of an Alzheimers victim from the time of suspecting something was not quite right, to diagnosis through living with the disease, and presented from the victim's viewpoint. This book was informative, thought provoking, and heartbreaking as you journeyed with Alice through the changes in her mind, losing bits of herself and her life. OMG I cried!
I read this as part of the 2015 Popsugar challenge - Read a book that scares you. With Alzheimer's prevalent in my family it truly scared me, but it was written extremely well. The moment I finished the book, I searched for ways to reduce my risks.

It is amazing how well the author was able to write in the voice of Alice.

Still Alice a beautifully written book about one woman's battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. Alice is able to pull you into her world and makes you see what she does and makes you feel what she feels. I don't know how anyone could read this and not feel apart of Alice herself. I won't lie, ...more
