2.5 stars.

I listened to the audio version of it. I loved how creepy the rats were with their awful songs. Although the audiobook was well read, and I loved that it was read by the author, the story wasn't very engaging.

I had mentioned in my earlier review of this book that I wouldn't read it to my child, I lasted close to 8 years before deciding to give my child nightmares. (In a Neil Gaiman double whammy - I've got Graveyard Book after this, poor child). But my son is very sensible - but mommy, she could have avoided all of this if she'd just not opened the door. It is always a thrilling experience to read books written by Neil Gaiman. I became a fan of his work when I first read - American Gods. It is a short yet a fascinating story. I had a blast breezing through it. Fantastic.

Then one day her mom goes to the store and leaves Coraline home. As Coraline goes exploring she opens the door to discover the brick wall is gone on the other

Yet again I fail to be wowed by Neil Gaiman. Try as I might, I just can't "discover" what makes people love him even though my tastes overlap his fans greatly.

It's a decent story but not all that either.
