I thought this was a pretty good book. A nice fast read for me. I saw bits and pieces of the movie and didn't know it was based on a book until I went to the library. I loved the plot and characters of the story. Once I started reading I could not put it down.

I enjoy a dark story. I also enjoyed the movie version of this novel. In one of the rare instances where I read the book second, this was a relieving success. While there are certainly noticeable differences between the two media, I found the story quite enjoyable.

This was a pretty dull book, in my opinion. I know this book is geared toward a younger audience so that was probably a big reason why I didn't care for it, but because it's intended for a much younger reader I thought that some of the things in the book might be too scary for them - to me they weren't scary but for young people they might be. I don't recommend it.

This is a fantastical book about a girl who finds a hallway in her new house, where her parents see only a brick wall. Behind the wall is her "other" family, button-eyed versions of her parents and neighbors. There's also a really entertaining cat.
