This is a beautifully written story and I loved it! It is so easy to get wrapped up in this book and I found myself not wanting to put it down. I'm so glad I got to read this while living in Alaska! She did a perfect job of describing this great state. I also really enjoyed all the characters and that is not something I can normally say about a book. Great story and I highly recommend! ...more

I liked it very much. It started with a 40 something couple living in the northwoods of Alaska, during the 1920s. They wanted very much to have a baby, although nothing was happening. So one night during a bad snowstorm, they were playing in the snow and decided to make a snow girl, with Mabel's hat, gloves and scarf, then days later a little girl comes by with all her clothes.
