Stilul cărții este foarte ușurel, eu am citit-o în câteva zile, în vacanță și am fost extrem de plăcut impresionată de ceea ce am citit. Personajele interesante, atmosfera captivantă și celelalte elemente ale cărții fac din ea un roman de excepție. Credeți-mă pe cuvânt că este primul roman citit anul acesta care m-a impresionat foarte tare.Mereu am iubit basmele, iar atmosfera de basm a acestei cărți a fost pe placul meu.

Gorgeous narrative taking place in early 1900s in rural Alaska. Loss and longing make fairy tale and reality blend. The scenery and weather become characters themselves. Well paced and balanced for a thought provoking read.

As sad as it is happy, like many fairy tales, this book is a wonderful read. Can you be happy without the sadness? Can you have good without bad. Not only is this book a fairy tale it is also the lesson in life that we all learn. You have to have the bad with the good to know the and appreciate the good. Written beautifully, you can feel the cold and the snow and the isolation, and yet you can see the beauty in all of it.
