Another solid mystery in this series. Cork and his new wife, Rainy, head for Arizona when a garbled voicemail from Rainy's son Peter indicates that Peter may be in serious trouble. A solid grounding in current events -- drug trafficking and illegal border crossings -- provides opportunities for Cork to ponder the complex moral and legal issues surrounding what's happening today on the U.S.'s southern border. A satisfying and suspenseful tale well told.
