What should have been a pleasant, humorous memoir about a young woman whose dream is to be a bookseller and who ends up setting up shop in a narrow boat, ends up being a muddled mash-up of anecdotes that are meant to be humorous but come off showing the author as blithely selfish, ignorant, immature, and irresponsible. She also puts in an entire passage told from the point-of-view of the boat. It is a ridiculous story and I felt sympathy for all the people in her life who love her but who can't
