My 8-yr old granddaughter finished reading this book in the car yesterday, so I thought I'd check it out. What a gem of a book!
The story is from the POV of a gorilla, Ivan, who's been kept in a road-side exhibit for several decades. He draws pictures that are sold in the gift shop. He is friends with the other denizens of his little world: Stella the elephant, Bob a homeless dog, Julia a little girl, Ruby the new baby elephant.
