An easy-to-follow history of the four daughters of Raymond V, Count of Provence: Marguerite, who married Louis IX of France; Eleanor, who married Henry III of England; Sanchia, who married Richard of Cornwall, later King of the Romans; and Beatrice, who married Charles of Anjou, later King of Sicily. Europe in the 13th century was dominated by these kingdoms and, with the exception of Sanchia, these women were active and important in the political arenas of their day.
