Brilliant story! It's been a while since I found a science fiction book that I really liked. Rosemary Harper joins the crew of the ship Wayfarer. Their job is to create stable wormholes for interstellar travel within the Galactic Commons. The GC is made up of several sentient species and the crew of the Wayfarer is multispecies as well. Chambers does a great job of world-building and character development while creating plenty of suspense and drama with the plot. This story ticks all the boxes.
