I liked this one better than the first as Vera plays a more prominent role in this novel. Ten years ago, Abigail Mantel was strangled and her body was found by her best friend, Emma Winter. Abigail had recently convinced her father, Keith, to throw out his live-in girlfriend, Jeanie Long. Jeanie was convicted of Abigail's murder but now new evidence proves she was innocent.
