What a delight! I only chanced across this book and author a few weeks ago but a wonderful story. Mahony is an orphan from Dublin who receives a message that his mother was taken from him by the villagers of her home town. He sets off to find the truth and teams up with three women: an elderly actress who lives at the bed and breakfast he stays in, the daughter of the owner, and the local priest's housekeeper. Irish folklore and a murder mystery intertwined with humor and pathos.
