What Members Thought
As the storyline moves into the Second World War, it's heartbreaking to read about the people who, having barely survived the First World War and its aftermath, have to send their sons and daughters off to fight the Germans again. As always, Winspear's books are fascinating reads and many of her peripheral characters' stories are based on true stories from her own family so they have a depth that I really enjoy.
