I was completely unfamiliar with Parsi culture in India before reading this book. In addition to being a fascinating look at the myriad cultures of India, it was also interesting to learn about the first women lawyers in India plus a good mystery in addition. The difficulties of investigating a murder within a household where the Muslim women observe strict seclusion from all men who are not family members made the investigation complex.
