What Members Thought
The story is based on actual events in Iceland and reminds me strongly of Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace, also based on actual events in Canada. Alternating between third-person and first-person narration, the story picks up after the conviction of Agnes Magnussdottir for murder while she awaits execution. She must stay with a local family while awaiting the confirmation of the sentence from the authorities in Denmark (which ruled Iceland at the time.) Agnes tells her story to the priest she has
