What Members Thought
I love the narration of Simon Vance and found that my library had that audio version available, so I knew that was the way to go for this castaway story and listening certainly enhanced the book and kept it from bogging down in the slower parts. Robinson Crusoe was a re-read for me, but it has been at least 40 years between reads, so it was almost like a new experience. He then proceeds to show his journal... which just describes what he did the first 4 years on the island again. Repeatedly get his mental thoughts on religion, which is fine the first time, but it goes on and

ბევრი რამის თქმა მინდა ამ წიგნზე, მაგრამ ჯეიმს ჯოისმა უკვე თქვა უკეთესად: "He is the true prototype of the British colonist. ... The whole Anglo-Saxon spirit in Crusoe: the manly independence, the unconscious cruelty, the persistence, the slow yet efficient intelligence, the sexual apathy, the calculating taciturnity."
