This book has been on my bookshelf for as long as I can remember. It is actually one of my comfort reads. I’ve re-read it several times through the years and it remains an all-time favorite. I LOVE it. 5 BIG stars of course (I'd give it more if I could).

If I weren't reading this immediately after reading James Fenimore Cooper, I probably would have enjoyed it more. I do really appreciate the humorous scenes between Rochester and Jane, namely the one scene where Jane soaks Rochester with water in order to put the fire out. Unfortunately, such silly scenes were not prominent in this novel, and therefore, rendered this novel as not as enjoyable and entertaining as it could have been.
