What Members Thought

Melanti
Such a fun book! I was expecting the swashbuckling to contain sword fights, for some reason, but I was even happier with the trickster type action.

Now I'm kind of bummed I didn't read it way back when it was first recommended to me (I think I was 12 or 13?) since it's the type of book that could be read as easily as a teen as it is in adulthood.

As a modern woman, I probably ought to be annoyed that Marguerite is utterly useless and irrelevant to the plot (view spoiler)

Very good! Marguerite was a bit of a whiny, melodramatic bitch but most female characters are in old school writing. I liked Percy! What a hero. I pictured him as a tall Jensen Ackles in the book. I was able to guess the ending, but it strung me so far along that I was beginning to second guess myself. And I was also surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the ending.
