What Members Thought
Late to the party with this one. I was never even asked to read this book in school. Not sure that I would have appreciated it so much at a high school age.
The first 1/3rd of the book moves pretty slow. But eventually becomes a quick moving coming of age story for a pair of brother and sister youngsters growing up in the '30s. With a lawyer as a father, they achieve some extra exposure into the shortcomings of our society; and come to learn how evil the world can become. ...more
