What Members Thought
It was good. It was written in 1960 but supposed to have taken place in 1935. But they knew about Einstein and they knew about Hitler so I think 1935 might have been too early. There are cars but a lot of people in the story get around by horse. That would make placing it in 1935 about right.
It's a testament to the lack of civil rights of that era. Kind of like Charles Dickens when he wrote Oliver Twist highlighting child labor. Or the plight of women in Pride and Prejudice. An interesting thing ...more
