The Old Curiosity Shop was written in 1840. I enjoy reading the classics because they are part of literature that has lasted for so long. The Old Curiosity Shop is the story of Little Nell Trent and the wicked dwarf Quilp. When Nell’s grandfather gambles away his curiosity shop to his money-lender Quilp, Nell and and her grandfather flee London. And so, we journey w/ Nell and her grandfather through the English countryside and towns, meeting interesting Dickensian characters along the way.
Dickens' writing style can be a challenge at times, and the story is long and complicated (as are all of Dickens' tales)
