This isn't a play I had any familiarity with, though I knew the basic story, of course. I found reading it pretty tough - there are a lot of short scenes where it bounces between Caesar and Antony's people. Clearly one of the themes Shakespeare is looking at is the difference between the West, as shown by Roman ideal, and the East, Cleopatra's realm. Male vs female, love vs duty, etc. But the jumping around made it hard to care about anybody.
