It feels wrong giving a 1-star rating to a book so many others love, but, this is my opinion, and I found this book to be a boring, total waste of time.

A much better, more through-provoking book on the same theme that I can recommend, is Brave New World. It seems The Giver is a rip off of BNW only it's worse because it has no ending. The entire reason I kept reading it was to find out what new item it brought to this scene that's been written about time and time again already. As it turns out,
