I just find it hard to care about forbidden loves, tortured lovers, and illicit affairs... And I find it even harder to care about the vows of a priest and whether or not he follows completely ridiculous and illogical Catholic dogma of being "married" to God.

Bah. I LOVED Gone With the Wind but it had a lot more going on than just a soap opera of love, lust, and passion. And Scarlett's problems seemed a lot more personal where Meggie's problems are rather remote.

A favorite book of my moms that is also a favorite book of mine. I watched the miniseries many years ago, but had never read the book until now. As much as I loved the miniseries, the book is way better. I loved this epic family saga that follows the Cleary family from New Zealand, to their move to Australia and the home they establish there, the beloved Drogheda.
