Flowers for Algernon is one of the best books I've read. An all-time classic that lives up to its billing. The book was an emotional roller coaster, with more time spent in the depressing and heartbreaking valleys. The story was told in the voice of the main character, Charlie Gordon, through a series of journal entries. Charlie undergoes an experimental surgery to increase his intelligence and the writing style in the book changes to mirror Charlie's changing intelligence level. The writing is ...more
