Time to move onto something I will enjoy reading.

I have never been this ambiguous about a book. On the one hand I am so glad I read it on the other I wished I had never picked it up. On the one hand I found it a masterpiece on the other it was the work of a schoolboy trying to show us that he understood multiple ways of delivering a text. This may be a "great" novel, but it is not a GOOD one.
It has been said that one cannot read Ulysses, one can only RE-read Ulysses. Having slogged through all 700+ pages, I heartily affirm that this is true. To try to glean as much understanding as I could on a first reading, I tackled Ulysses chapter by chapter, listening to a lecture on each chapter first, and then using a combination of written and audio book to snatch as much as I could.
