I recently reread “A Farewell to Arms” and was reminded how very good it is. I think it may be Hemingway's tightest novel and the best example of his inimitable and powerful style. But this novel remains my favorite. It may not be quite as well written (or well editted?) but it is a great story and I was once again swept away to Spain and to the 1930s. This is the second time I have read this book. The first was in 2009. I’m afraid I don’t have a lot of time to write a solid review... but, in short:
In 2009 I read this book and left a sticky note inside the front cover. It said “This book is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone”.
2020... I finished reading it and immediately reopened it to enjoy the ride again.
