Prior to reading “Walden” I had read good reviews and was familiar with some of the principals that Thoreau promoted in his writings. I was excited to read it and was sure it was going to be much treasured book. Sadly, I did not like or enjoy “Walden”. It fact it was painful to read, often reading two pages was more than enough. There were good points and observations made by the author but he rambled on. I found the text jump from one idea to another and failed to hold my interest.
