I listened to this via audiobook narrated by Maya Angelou.

This is a book where poetry meets autobiography.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is a coming of age story written by Maya Angelou. In poetic style, she takes us through her childhood and teen years: through discrimination, poverty, child neglect, rape, humiliation and fear. Maya tells the story beautifully.
