It's not the story that amazed me, but the writing style. This memoir is the most beautifully written memoir that I ever read. I am speechless. And don't even get me started on all the issues that it addresses. I wish this was on my required reading list in high school too.

The book was well-written, but I think that I was expecting more from it. It simply seemed like a memoir. I am certainly not trying to downplay the events that occured in her life, but there are joys and tragedies in everyone's life. I felt more like she was sharing "Her Story" with the reader than trying to "prove" something or be life-changing.
