A Wrinkle in Time is a story about a young girl (Meg) and her unusually smart kid brother (Charles Wallace) and the adventure they go on trying to find their father. They travel in time and space with the help of three old ladies and something called a Tesseract, and get into some bizarre situations.

I tried to read this when I was around 5th grade and couldn't get excited about it--I'm not sure I even finished it. I forced myself to read it this summer since it is so strongly tied into When You Reach Me , one of the books I required for 7th grade reading. I ended up truly loving it--the characters, the themes, the multiple levels of meaning. Sometimes, to discover a good book, you have to get past your prejudices!
