What Members Thought
I really wish I liked this more - the ending is remarkable, given when it was written.
But, on the other hand... Nora is such a child and needs to learn to take a little personal responsibility for her own actions.

Terrible, terrible audio production.
It's way over-acted.
I didn't realize that it was a live recording of an actual performance of he play - which means that you can hear the audience laughing at times and it makes it feel like a sitcom with canned laugh track.

To completely enjoy A Doll’s House, I think you have to remember its publication date of 1879. We take so many things for granted that are touched on in this play that to realize how unique it must have been to see it on stage at that time is a challenge. I listened to a full cast live version of the play and it was so well done that I was really able to visualize it on stage. Characterizations often are exaggerated in plays because we must be able to understand a lot just from the dialogue and

Although this play was written in the 19th century, I identified with Nora's struggle to be seen - truly SEEN - for the person she is rather than the person that everyone around her thinks she should be. I didn't really care for her - or for any of the other characters, for that matter - but the play held my interest (mostly because it was such a quick read) and came to as satisfying a conclusion as was possible given the preceding events.
