What Members Thought
Everyone talks about how depressing this is - and it is a tragic novel - but no one ever really talks about how funny it is! I was not expecting to laugh this much. Not that it's meant as a comedic novel, but Flaubert throws in a bunch of fun one liners and ironic situations.
Emma reminds me quite a bit of Don Quiote with her head in the clouds and her delusional mind on her books.
